Bentley’s second generation Continental GTC ($212,800) has officially been revealed and its hot. The sculpted lines definitely give the car a much more imposing presence versus the softer curves of the original. As for power, the GTC will feature a 6.0L twin-turbo W12 capable of propelling to car from zero to sixty in 4.5 seconds while on its way to a top speed of 195 miles per hour. The new GTC is now available for pre-order and will arrive later in the year.

Rolls-Royce announced Monday that sales rocketed to an all-time high in 2011, driven by demand from China and the United States.

The group, which is owned by German auto giant BMW, said in a statement that production leapt 31 percent to 3,538 cars in 2011.

That was the highest-ever output in the 107-year history of Rolls-Royce. The 2011 performance beat the previous record of 3,347 cars set in 1978.

Rolls-Royce also said China and the United States were now the “most significant individual markets” for the maker of ultra-luxurious vehicles.

The company said sales surged last year by 47 percent across the Asia Pacific region, by 17 percent in North America and by 23 percent in the Middle East.

In September, Rolls-Royce unveiled plans to expand its factory to meet strong global demand for the group’s personalised range of Ghost and Phantom models.
