KINGSTON IS UNDER SEIGE
AS ALLEGED KINGPIN’S SUPPORTERS CHALLENGE POLICE

Two policemen were killed and six injured last night in the violent showdown between Jamaican police and supporters of drug lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke, who are holed up in a barricaded section of Kingston. The cops were fired on as they responded to a call for help from a female motorist, reports the BBC . A state of emergency has been declared as supporters take to the streets, protesting the Jamaican prime minister’s decision to allow Coke to be extradited to the US on drugs and weapons trafficking charges.

Christopher “Dudus” Coke, who plead not guilty to drug and weapons trafficking charges on Friday, June 25th 2010, was handed over to U.S. forces for expedition on June 24th. Coke waived his right to an extradition hearing, after peacefully surrendering to police at a checkpoint in the Portmore area of St. Catherine Parish.

Coke is also the alleged leader of the Shower Posse gang, a murderous gang based in Tivoli Gardens in Kingston Jamaica, who earned the name by showering enemies with bullets. Coke is currently awaiting trial in New York, where he will be tried in Manhattan Federal Court.

  3. Good post here. One thing I’d like to say is the fact that most professional career fields consider the Bachelor Degree just as the entry level standard for an online education. Whilst Associate College diplomas are a great way to start out, completing your Bachelors uncovers many doorways to various employment goodies, there are numerous on-line Bachelor Course Programs available through institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another thing is that many brick and mortar institutions provide Online versions of their qualifications but generally for a extensively higher cost than the providers that specialize in online course programs.
